Dr. Rebeka Silva is Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, and she also serves as Chief of Dental Service and full-time oral and maxillofacial surgeon for the San Francisco Veterans Administration Health Care System in California. At the medical center, she leads a group of four surgeons, managing the most complex cases for the Veterans Administration in the United States. 

Dr. Silva has co-authored and co-edited three textbooks on the contemporary management of TMJ disorders and has published peer-reviewed papers in the field. She has obtained key research grants in surgical simulation and in the use of mesenchymal stem cells for the development of live, patient-specific bone grafts for jaw reconstruction. In addition to presenting at national and international meetings, Dr. Silva was nominated to the prestigious American Society of TMJ Surgeons.
