Ashraf Ayoub is Master of Dental Sciences, Doctor of Philosophy, Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, United Kingdom. He is the professor and chair of oral and maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Glasgow, UK since 2003. He is the director of the master’s programme in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and the Vice Dean of the Royal College of Physcians and Surgeons of Glagsow, UK. Professor Ashraf Ayoub received several awards and honours including the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons’ President prize in 2023. He published more than 200 articles in peer reviewed scientific journals, contributed to many chapters in textbooks, and edited a handbook on the correction of dentofacial deformities. He supervised 21 PhDs and many other research degrees including DDS, D ClinDent and MSc. Professor Ashraf Ayoub is the Glasgow lead of the Scottish Craniofacial Research Group and a member of the editorial board of several national and international scientific journals. He is the editor-in-chief of the Frontiers Oral and maxillofacial Surgery. Recently, professor Ayoub in collaboration with colleagues in UK and India, completed an innovative clinical application of Dynamic Navigation and the preclinical use of a robotic arm for the placement of dental implants. The results were published in peer reviewed scientific journal and presented at several international meetings.
