Professor of Periodontology, faculty of dental medicine, Ain Shams University. Honorary professor University of Bermingham, President of the Egyptian association of periodontology and Board member of the international academy of periodontology.  He has started his career after graduating from the faculty of dentistry, Cairo University. He moved to USA as a postdoctoral fellow at the medical college of Georgia. He has mentored more than 100 PhD and Master theses and published more than 100 publications in different periodicals. He has been a recipient of many research awards. His research focuses primarily upon periodontal regenerative surgeries, tissue engineering in periodontal regeneration, periosteal graft applications, and peri-implantitis treatment.
