Paulo Cesar

Dr. Paulo Cesar, Associate Professor in the Department of Biomaterials and Oral Biology, School of Dentistry, at the University of São Paulo (USP), earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) in 1995. In 2002, Dr. Cesar was awarded his PhD in Dental Materials. He currently teaches dental biomaterials to both undergraduate and graduate students and serves as advisor to doctoral candidates. Dr. Cesar’s current research includes dental ceramics applications, their mechanical properties, microstructural implications, and fatigue behavior. At present, he is Past President of the Academy of Dental Materials (ADM), Past President of the Dental Materials Group of the IADR, and Past President of the Brazilian Division of the IADR (SBPqO). He currently serves as Vice-President of the Latin American Region (LAR) of the IADR. He also serves as an Editorial Board Member the following peer reviewed journals: Dental Materials, Journal of Dentistry and JADA Foundational Science. He also serves as reviewer for Journal of Dental Research, Journal of Biomedical Materials Research, European Journal of Oral Sciences, Journal of the American Ceramic Society, and Journal of Materials Science, among others. Dr. Cesar lectures on dental ceramic materials as an invited speaker, both nationally and internationally.
